The updates to the HHL-C intrusion alarm system and the Hedsam X access control system improve the openness and mobile usability of the systems, while also reducing the size and carbon footprint of the devices.
According to Thomas Thodén, Hedengren Security's Technology Director, the updates, scheduled over the next six months, will make both the design and use of the systems easier.
“We are preparing a new software release for the HHL-C system, which will allow us to enhance features through the cloud service and interface. With the update, for example, scheduling and adjustments can be done from the control center through the cloud service,” explains Thodén.
Smaller and More Ecological Devices
In the update, the HHL C system's control unit will also be renewed. The previous control unit, which was 10 cm x 10 cm in size, will shrink to the size of a thumbnail, allowing key information to be processed more efficiently.
“The small, modern, and easily concealable control unit facilitates the design and installation of the system. The potential of the system can now be utilized in a new way, as the space required for the unit is much smaller. The size change also reduces the device’s carbon footprint,” Thodén adds.
A usability-improving update is also planned for the previous generation HHL+. The HHL+ family will receive a driver that will allow the older system to be connected to the cloud service.
“The update offers customers an additional step towards the HHL C generation. Although we encourage customers to move directly to the C generation, we want to provide the opportunity to utilize existing systems for as long as possible or schedule the transition to the new generation at the most practical time,” says Thodén.
Better Mobile Usability and Sleeker Design
Updates to the Hedsam X access control system will bring three new features to the system. The first update will renew the appearance of the time attendance terminal.
“The time attendance terminal will have a more modern and sleeker look. While the device will still feature a 10-inch display, the streamlined design will reduce the overall surface area, giving the terminal a lighter and more stylish appearance,” Thodén describes.
The other two updates concern the integration interface of the Hedsam X system. The first improvement enhances the system’s openness and mobile usability.
“We are introducing more integration between the mobile identifier manufacturer and our software, which allows for broader use of mobile identifiers. Authentication will shift to mobile phones, eliminating the need for physical tags. Administrative work will also be reduced, as access control will now be managed solely through the control software.”
The second update enhances the functionality of the integration interface.
“In the future, customers will be able to import personnel into the system from another system and manage personnel administration from a single interface. Previously, personnel were added to the database using separate tools and interfaces,” explains Thodén.
