Hedengren was chosen as a supplier based on a competitive price for fire alarms, emergency lighting and intercom system. Our own fire alarms and emergency lighting, which can be run on the same loop and control centre, save both costs and the environment. In addition, installation work is easier.
Idyllically and centrally located in Drammen
The Svanegangen project is attractively located on the riverside in Drammen, just a stone’s throw away from Hedengren’s head office on Lierstranda. The brewery Aass Bryggeri is Svanegangen’s closest neighbour, and residents can enjoy the short walk to the centre of Drammen, where they will find everything they need in the way of shops and services.
Svanegangen consists of 132 exclusive apartments, with good outdoor areas with a playground, roof terraces and balconies bathed in sunshine, and views across the river. Allotment gardens, water features and lush outdoor spaces are just some of the advantages of living in Svanegangen.
What needs did Hedengren solve?
Svanegangen is a unique project, partly due to external open stairwells and the use of dynamic emergency lighting in basement and storeroom areas.
Hedengren delivered solutions related to fire alarms, with detection in apartments, corridors, storerooms and business premises. Operating panels are located in corridors and externally in an electrical cabinet on the landing.
We supplied emergency lighting for corridors and evacuation routes. Dynamic emergency lighting is used in car parking basements and storeroom areas. When a fire alarm is activated, this will change the marker lighting to indicate the safest exit. External guiding lights have also been installed at evacuation doors.
A good intercom system is important in an apartment project like Svanegangen. Hedengren has supplied IP intercom door phones where the external main unit has a video camera and the answering units in the apartments have screens. This provides extra security for residents.
Flame detector against adjoining building
In addition to the solutions relating to fire alarms, we also supplied a flame detector that monitors the adjoining building from Svanegangen Building C. This was necessary because of the short distance between the buildings. The flame detector monitors the wall and nearby roof surfaces against the adjoining building. If the flame detector is activated, a signal will be sent to the fire curtains over external windows, and these will be lowered.
