Various outdoor events are an essential part of an attractive city. In the winter, cosy Christmas events attract a lot of people to enjoy the offerings of sales booths and the beautifully lit cityscape.
However, when organising events, the safety of the participants must always also be considered. Driving a vehicle into the crowd either by accident or intentionally can be prevented by using large temporary concrete barriers, for example. The concrete barriers increase safety, but they also create a sense of danger with their presence and disrupt the urban landscape.
System bollards by BEGA are a discreet and stylish way to prevent vehicles from driving into crowds. They blend into the environment and can be in place to protect people also at other times than during outdoor events. Impact-proof system bollards are available in two different light frames; a square 220 mm frame and a round frame with a 265 mm diameter.
The square bollard has been designed to stop a passenger car with a maximum total weight of 1.5 tonnes and a maximum speed of 50 km/h. The round bollard can stop up to a 7.5 tonne truck travelling at a maximum speed of 50 km/h. BEGA impact-proof bollards not only change the travel route of the vehicle, but they also render it inoperable.
